Project 365 - Day 2

Welcome back, if you came back.  :-)  Welcome to Day Two of my attempt to make it through the year.  As I mentioned in my opening post yesterday, not all days will have much to say.  Today seems like one of those days.  Though as I dissect it a little, there is a little more than I expected.

First day back to work after the holiday..  That leads us to the day at work, it was... well,,, a day at work.  I did, however, avoid losing my soul while sitting at my desk; that is always a positive thing.

Summary

First, let's focus on what didn't happen (as of the time I write this):

I didn't get eaten by zombies.
I didn't get into an accident while driving.
I didn't lose my patience while standing in line behind the slowest woman in the world at Shop Rite.
I didn't win the lottery.
...
I guess I could continue this forever.

What did happen today?  I got to partake of the mad rush on French Toast supplies, that is always fun... if your idea of fun is getting a root canal while being forced to listen to Miley Cyrus sing, oh and watch that ugly skank dance at the same time...

The reason I was there?  Tomorrow is my wife's birthday and with the snow storm approaching we may not be able to get out so we decided that homemade baked ziti would be a good way to go.  Not only tasty but the heat from the stove will be welcomed with the freezing temperatures tomorrow.  I wasn't being one of those over-reacting idiots, just my normal style of idiocy.

I did find a way to entertain myself while watching people with overflowing carts lumbering through the crowd.  One couple grabbing seemingly anything in a panicked state.  Um, it's just snow and we may only get about 6 inches.  Yes, it will be cold for two days but the snow will start to melt on Sunday so we're looking at maybe 2 days being penned up inside.  Hardly requires hording.

I did pick up some more firewood and then killed my back bringing in the last seasoned stump from our wood pile.  I can probably split that stump into at least 6 logs.  Problem is that I am not as young as I thought I was and I am likely going to regret carrying it into the laundry room.

Winding Down

Now it is time to wind down.  Had some left overs for dinner and writing the blog for the day.  What is on tap for tonight?  Probably a Flyers game and flip back and forth to the Sugar Bowl.

In addition to that?  Maybe playing a little The Walking Dead on the laptop.

Photo

Today I leave a photo of some much needed wood for the wood stove.  The next two days will get into the single digit range so any help with the heat is a good thing.  Plus, there is nothing quite like having the fire going on a winter's day.

The reason why we want the wood...
