Football and snowmen and Cowpoke fans, oh my...
The Day
These are strange days indeed... Went out earlier to go shopping and the temperature was around 40. My first thought was, "wow, spring weather". It definitely felt better than single digits with below zero wind chill.
Today didn't get a lot accomplished. I watched some football playoffs on TV, though only on and off as I actually fell asleep for an hour at one point while Kayla played on the laptop in my den; a product of not getting to sleep until after 4 AM again.
Part of the day was a Facebook "war" with a local cowboys fan. They are a funny animal (most) as they crave attention and will be obnoxious as hell trying to seek out that attention. I will add that one of my friends is a cowboys fan that is not that way, he was brainwashed by his older brother when he was a kid so he gets a pass as we can have normal discussions about football. I find it funny that people will pump their chest out to talk about their "team's history" when that team has won a total of ONE playoff game over the past 20 years... yeah, be proud of that...
Tonight ended with an impromptu snowman building. With the snow melting it was in much better shape to build one that the past couple days were it was too light to pack. Kayla and I built what was a leaf covered (got most off) snowman that she named Leonardo (not sure where she got that from). It's very basic with sticks for arms and a few rocks to define a face but it was a fun time (though my hands were frozen when we finished as I can't find where I packed my gloves).
I did get one thing done, I updated a thread that I am working on at a website that I have been going to for almost 15 years now (rather cool how times have changed and I have gotten to know several people only from posting on that board and now some also on facebook). I am doing a thread to promote the NLL season and do a write up each week to recap the games that week and update information about the league. I will be adding pictures for the games that I go to. Basically, an NLL themed blog. Hoping to get someone to attend a game this year, somewhere. There is someone that lives around Edmonton who said he may end up going to a game this year (he has heard about it and thought about it in the past but seeing the thread made him think about it some more).
The girls decided which one will go to the Wings home opener with me next Sunday. Rachel will go that week and the following Saturday Kay will go. 7 other games to decide, I know of a few friends who I hope to take and someone from work who I mentioned it to last year.
Going to settle in and watch the rest of the 49ers/Packers game... tied at 20 with about 4 minutes left.
Made it though 5 days!!!

I leave you with Leonardo the Snowman...
