The Day
Woke up early for a weekend (especially considering I couldn't;t get to sleep last night). Made pork chops for an early dinner and then went to Philly with Ray for the Wings home opener (hoping for better results than they had at Rochester yesterday).
We arrived early and walked around the building a little before settling into our seats. The game started out tight but then the Wings had their 15 minutes of futility like they had yesterday. Before you knew it they were down 10-5 and it was in the middle of the 3rd.
They clawed back to 10-9 but then, as I said "no, don't give him an open shot" the NLL's all time leading scorer John Tavares scored for Buffalo to make it 11-9. Was worried that the momentum would be gone but they scored the next two to tie the game and it went to overtime.
A little over a minute in Tavares got the ball and as I was saying "no, don't give him and open shot" the ball was out of his stick and past Kirk to give Buffalo the winning goal. He cannot make his own space anymore as he is in his mid 40's but he can still shoot when given space and they allowed him to do that multiple times and they paid each time.
Ray and I took a walk at halftime and I bought her a pretzel for a snack. After the game we headed out, they were having a jersey auction but I made the financially sound choice and didn't stay for it. We stopped at Wawa on the way home and grabbed something small for a late lunch.
Now I write this up and prepare to do a little work. Afterwards I'll probably blow off some steam on GTA 5, or something along that line.
Today marks day 7 of no soda!!!
